All of the above was achieved over a very sustainable 7 weeks. Robert first decided to join Transformed by Spence as he wanted to start bodybuilding and leave the CrossFit aspect of training.
To see physical changes and sculpt his body differently, we knew he had to start focusing on weak areas and building them up!
We first increased calorie intake so that Robert was in a surplus each day – this was by up-to 500 calories per day to ensure we were feeding the system all the key nutrients (and more) it needed for optimal muscle growth.
Making CARBS that’s right I said it! Carbohydrates the main element of his muscle synthesising regimen.
During this 7 week period with Spencer Lissamore Fitness we managed to keep fat gain to a minimal.
Actually dropping it by .1% whilst still gaining an amazing 1.5kg of lean body-weight mass!
Consistency played a key role as does any sustainable and positive result plan.
When Robert first came to SLFitness he was training and eating however not logging any of his information; we then logged all his previous nutrition habits and old workout plan to see where he was going wrong and how we could address these areas of need.
Robert addressed his strengths and so we focused on his key areas to build.
Robert Gordon is an Online Coaching client and so we check-in weekly to see progress with photographs, discussion and nutritional adjustments each week to keep the results coming!
Given his close location to my area of work, he has had the odd 1:1 session with myself to assess his baseline strength and to ensure he is keeping his intensity as it should be throughout each Phase of his Transformed by Spence plan(s).
The support system we used was through Direct Messaging on Instagram in the first instance where we then arranged What’s App communication, messaging and a Skype conference (if applicable) for each weekly check-in.
