Danny Paling’s Story.
Danny came to Spencer Lissamore – Personal Trainer & Body Transformation Specialist with the sole aim to better himself and his mind-set, we commenced a training and nutrition schedule with immediate effect and the results have since been well you tell us!
SL: “Why did you come to SLFitness?”
Danny: “I started training because I put on a lot of weight and my mental well-being wasn’t the best.”
SL: “What weight were you when you started?”
Danny: “I started at 14 stone 7lbs.”
SL: “And your weight now?”
Danny: “And I am now 14 stone but alot leaner and even stronger!”
SL: “What do you enjoy to train? – Furthermore, what is your favourite muscle group(s) to exercise?”
Danny: “I enjoy training and love to fight in MMA. My favourite muscle to train is back. I plan to be the best fighter I can be, and continue to improve myself day by day.”
Danny also added; “For whoever suffers with mental illness the best thing you can do is keep a healthy body to keep your mental health on the up…”
Danny is a prime example of how we can change ourselves for the better if we know we want to. We have all heard the saying, it is ok to not be ok. The question however becomes, if you aren’t ok. What factors are you going to introduce to your life to change that?
“It is exercise alone that supports the spirits, and keeps the mind in vigour.” –
Marcus Tullius Cicero
Physical activity has a huge potential to enhance our wellbeing. Even a short burst of 10 minutes’ brisk walking increases our mental alertness, energy and positive mood.
Participation in regular physical activity can increase our self-esteem and can reduce stress and anxiety. It also plays a role in preventing the development of mental health problems and in improving the quality of life of people experiencing mental health problems.
Depression, anxiety, mood, stress, cognitive function, the list is endless but they are all helped through correct; nutrition, fitness and guidance.
“For whoever suffers with mental illness the best thing you can do is keep a healthy body to keep your mental health on the up…”
